No More Batman Pokies from Microgaming

This week, Microgaming announced its plans to pull its Batman-themed pokies from the online casino market. The two games – The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises – will no longer be available at gambling sites from the end of June.

At the moment, little is known about this decision. The gaming world was made aware due to an email from a gaming affiliate, which read:

“THE DARK KNIGHT™ has decided to pack his bags and renounce his old life. Sources tell us that he’s trading in his superhero lifestyle for a quieter, more serene one, where there are no bad guys to defeat and no damsels in distress to save. For the indefinite future, he has vowed to live in the countryside with the birds”.

Gaming industry experts believe that there will no longer be Batman-themed slots from Microgaming due to the fact that the developer may have had difficulty extending its licensing agreement with the filmmakers. This is the reason why Microgaming had to pull its Lord of the Rings games from online casinos several years ago.
